Terms & Conditions

Accessibility
  • All our centres have pool hoists for those who need help to enter our pools. Disabled changing rooms are easily accessible and well equipped.
  • If you require a wheelchair you are entitled to exchange your outdoor wheelchair for a centre wheelchair – this can then be used for showering when on poolside (available at Droitwich Spa, Evesham and Pershore Leisure Centre)
  • Large handled rackets are available on request at reception
  • Hearing loops are installed in reception and exercise studios
  • Magnifying glasses and large grip pens are available from reception
  • If you require assistance and are entitled to a carer to assist you with your chosen activity, the carer will be admitted free of charge
  • The Rivers Fitness Rooms have a number of stations that can be adapted to suit most disabilities, please ask an instructor for assistance
  • We are always pleased to accept RNID ‘typetalk’ relay service calls
Terms and Conditions of Rivers Membership

We accept the following cards for online payments.

Refund Policy

  • You have the right to cancel your contract within 14 days of joining.
  • You can do this by email to info@wychavonleisure.co.uk or in writing to  Wychavon Leisure, Community Association Ltd. King George’s Way, Pershore, Worcestershire WR10 1QU.
  • If you follow this policy your payment will be returned.

Six Month and Annual Memberships

  • Persons wishing to become members must complete an application form accompanied by full payment for the chosen payment option.  Upfront memberships attract a discounted rate, therefore if you terminate this membership early you will not be entitled to a refund (this does not affect your statutory rights).

Monthly Memberships

  • Persons wishing to become members must complete an application form accompanied by payment covering the joining fee, and pro-rated monthly membership fee subsequent monthly membership fees are payable in advance by Direct Debit.  Direct Debit payments will be debited on the first of each month
  • If a member does not attend the centre having purchased a membership, they will not be entitled to a refund of membership fees.  This does not affect the 14 day money back guarantee
  • Wychavon Leisure Community Association Ltd (WLCAL) may from time to time increase the fees and tariffs due to increases in the costs of overheads or other costs.  We will give you at least 30 days written notice of any fee and/or tariff increase.  You may end this contract at any time before the increase comes into effect by giving us 14 days notice in writing.

Membership Cards

  • Members must present the membership card to reception on each visit to the Centre before using the facilities.  Any loss of membership cards must be reported to WLCAL immediately.  There is a standard administration charge for each replacement card.
  • Members must not allow anyone else to use their membership card or membership number.  Cards being used by any other person other than the authorised member will result in that membership being cancelled and no refunds will be made.

Use of Fitness Equipment by Centre Users

  • In the absence of any negligence or breach of any other legal duty by WLCAL; the use by the member of any WLCAL equipment or facilities is entirely at the members own risk
  • Regular induction classes explaining the safe and proper use of each item of equipment must be attended by members on joining. The user acknowledges that they must not use any equipment unless they are satisfied that they are competent to do so safely and properly.
  • The member must use the equipment and facilities safely and properly, and take care to safeguard their own health and safety and that of other members
  • WLCAL will not be responsible for any loss or injury to the member to the extent that it is caused by their own unsafe or improper use of the equipment or the facilities
  • The member acknowledges that they will be responsible for any harm or injury that they cause to another member or to WLCAL to the extent that it is caused through their own unsafe or improper use of the equipment or facilities

Valuables and Liability

  • In the absence of any negligence or breach of any other legal duty, WLCAL shall not be responsible for or liable to the member for any loss or damage to a member’s possessions which are not locked into one of the lockers provided
  • The member will not place a combination of items worth more that £100 into a locker
  • It is the member’s responsibility to check that the locker is properly locked and secure before leaving their possessions in it

Upgrade/Downgrade of Membership

  • If a member wishes to upgrade or downgrade their membership type, WLCAL requires 30 days notice in writing.

Bookings

  • Members are advised to book at reception to guarantee their place for a group training class or fitness class workout.  Members are required to give 6 hours notice if they are unable to attend the session or the current rate for the session/class will be payable.

General

  • It is for the customer to decide if they are fit enough to undertake the activity that they wish to take part in
  • Rivers members are required to wear a wristband during each visit to indicate their ‘inclusive activity’ status
  • If a membership is cancelled, the joining fee will be payable again on renewal of membership
  • Members will only be permitted to use the facilities provided their membership is current and fully paid up
  • Members are classed as adults from the age of 16; however members can use the gym from 14 years of age with parental consent
  • WLCAL may from time to time change or add to these terms and conditions for security, legal or regulatory reasons.  We will give at least 30 days written notice of any changes or additions.  You may end this contract at any time before they come into effect by giving us 14 days notice in writing
  • WLCAL reserves the right to reject any application or withdraw without refund any membership in the event of failure to comply with membership conditions or anti-social behaviour
  • Members are required to pay the relevant scheduled charges for all non-inclusive activities and must retain the receipt for proof of purchase whilst in the Centre
  • Admission is always subject to the facility operating within safe capacities and during times of peak demands, activity session times may be controlled

Termination of Membership

  • WLCAL requires a minimum of 30 days notice in writing should the member wish not to renew their monthly membership to enable the Centre to update their systems.  In such circumstances it is the member’s responsibility to cancel their Direct Debit with their bank.  If the member has cancelled their Direct Debit before giving notice or has not paid their fee up to date on the day which the contract ends the member must pay the balance of the sums owing to WLCAL within 7 days.

 HEALTH STATEMENT

Your health is your responsibilty. Please do not exercise beyond what you consider to be your own abilities. If you are aware of or may have a medical condition that may impact on you exercising safely, then please seek advice from a relevant medical professional before using the equipment and follow that advice.

Casual Terms & Conditions

Casual users are entitled to make 2 day advanced bookings for Rivers group exercise classes & court facilities.

If a booking has been made customers must abide by the members booking terms & conditions specified below:

  • Card must be swiped swiped at reception on arrival before participating in any booked activity.
  • 6 hours notice of any class or court cancellation must be given if user is unable to attend. No refunds will be given but monies can be carried forward to another booking provided that the new booking is within the two day booking period.
  • Casual users must pay at the time of booking.

 

Casual Fitness Room Users

  • Persons wishing to be a casual user of our fitness rooms must undergo an induction at a fee of £7.50, subsequently on each visit the member will be required to pay the casual fitness room rate.
  • *Please note the casual user joining fee at the Dolphin Centre, Bromsgrove must be renewed annually.

Admissions Policy

Swimming at Droitwich Spa, Evesham and Pershore

  • Children under eight years of age are not allowed to swim in public sessions unless accompanied in the water by a responsible adult (age 16+). This person may not supervise more than two children under the age of eight.
  • One child under the age of 4 will be admitted free with an adult swim, an additional child will be charged at the full child price.

Swimming at The Dolphin Centre, Bromsgrove.

  • Main Pool – One adult to one child under the age of four years; One adult to two children aged between four to eight years.
  • Small Pool – One adult to two children under the age of four years; One adult to three children aged between four to eight years.

Swimming Parent & Toddler Sessions

  • Children attending this session must be of pre school age.
  • One parent and child will be admitted for the parent and child price.
  • Extra adults or an extra child will be charged at an additional rate.

Showers

  • Showers are available on payment and must be taken using the dry side changing room showers only.

Health Suite – Sauna, Steam & Spa

  • Children under the age of 12 are not permitted to use this facility.
  • A responsible adult (16+) must accompany children under the age of 16.
  • Children who are 12 – 15 years of age must produce a completed parental consent form.

Fitness Room Admissions

  • A fitness room induction on safe use of the equipment and completion of a health questionnaire is required before using the gym.
  • Having completed the induction the customer will be given a Rivers card. This card must be handed in at reception on each visit.  Failure to produce this card will result in entry being refused.
  • 14 – 15 years olds may use the Fitness Rooms, however they must fill in a parental consent form before an induction takes place.
  • Supervised Junior Gym Sessions 12/13 years – Pershore only

Disabled Access

  • All Wychavon Leisure facilities are accessible to wheelchair users, with lifts and ramps where appropriate.
  • All Wychavon Leisure facilities are fitted with designated/accessible disabled toilets.
  • All our centres with swimming pools have disabled changing facilities with hoists and/or adjustable changing beds, and hoist access to the swimming pool.
  • If you have a specific request regarding disabled access/use please contact the relevant centre directly.

Rivers Members

  • May book 7 days in advance and receive free entry to most activities and reduced rates on other activities. Cards must be produced on each visit.
  • Rivers members are able to cancel bookings up to 12 hours prior to commencement of the session free of charge. Failure to give proper cancellation notice will result in the member being charged for the booking at their next visit.

WL Members

  • People holding WL annual membership cards may make bookings seven days in advance and receive a reduced rate of entry on some activities on production of a membership card.
  • Failure to produce a membership card means that charges will be made at the normal rate.
  • WL members are able to cancel bookings up to 6 hours prior to commencement of the session free of charge. Failure to give proper cancellation notice will result in the member being charged for the booking at their next visit.
  • If you have booking appears, membership rights will be suspended until payment has been received.
  • Only members may use their card to book courts.

Photography

  • The use of photographic equipment including cameras and mobile phone cameras are strictly prohibited in all facilities without the prior permission of the Duty Manager.

Lost Property

  • Lost property can be claimed at the reception of the relevant site.
  • Lost property will be kept on site for one month, after this period valuable items will be stored at head office for three months.
  • After the three month period all unclaimed valuable lost property is donated to charity.

Concessionary Cards

Those who live within Wychavon may be entitled to a Concessionary Cards if you are:

  • Unemployed in receipt of:
    • Job Seekers Allowance
    • Income Support
  • Disabled and in receipt of any of the following:
    • Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
    • Personal Independent Payment (PIP)
    • Armed Forces Independent Payment (AFIP)
    • Attendance Allowance
    • Constant Attendance Allowance
    • War Pensions Mobility Supplement
    • Employment & Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Student in full-time education

Card holders may use the building at reduced rates at all times

Proof of eligibility is required

Concessionary cards are valid for six months from the date of purchase

The Dolphin Leisure Centre Concessionary Criteria:

You are entitled to a concessionary card if you live in Bromsgrove District and are:

  • Student in full time education
  • In receipt of: a) Income Support b) Job Seekers Allowance c) Means Tested Benefit d) Disability Benefit
  • Card holders are entitled to a discount on use of Fitness Suite, Swimming, Badminton and Fitness Classes at off Peak times only
  • Proof of eligibility is required on every visit
  • Concessionary card is valid for 12 months for Senior Citizens, 6 months for all other users.
  • If you are over 60 years of age and live within the district of Bromsgrove you are entitled to apply for a concessionary status for swimming.  This entitles you to a 50% discount off all public swim sessions.

Group Exercise

  • Participants must be aged 14 and above
  • Any customers who are 14 – 15 years of age must produce a completed parental consent form

Toddlers Softplay Sessions

  • Children under five only
  • Only children are allowed on the inflatable soft play apparatus

Sunbed

  • Anyone wishing to use the sunbed must undergo an induction and complete a registration card at reception
  • Anyone under 18 years of age is not permitted to use the sunbed
  • No more than one person may enter the sunbed room at a time
  • Sunbed goggles must be worn

Competition Terms and Conditions
  • Each competition or promotional offer is open to all users of Wychavon Leisure Community Association Ltd (WLCAL) operated facilities unless specifically excluded.
  • Employees of WLCAL, their immediate family members, agencies or anyone professionally connected with the competition are excluded from entering or taking part in all competitions.
  • Any competitions involving physical activity must be completed following current best practice guidelines and to WLCAL health and safety requirements.
  • Any competitions requiring signed verification from a member of staff must be carried out in an appropriate manner.
  • In cases of dispute the Marketing Manager will make the final decision and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • The winner may be required to participate in publicity associated with the competition.
  • By entering all participants will be deemed to have accepted and bound by the rules.
  • Prizes won cannot be exchanged for an alternative gift or cash in value.
  • The winners will be notified within 28 days of the competition closing date.

Dolphin Centre Bromsgrove Car Park Refunds Policy

These terms and conditions relate only to the Dolphin Centre, Bromsgrove and not to any other leisure centres operated by Wychavon Leisure.

BROMSGROVE DISTRICT COUNCIL CAR PARK REFUNDS POLICY

Please be aware that the following patrons of the Dolphin Centre are entitled to a maximum refund of £0.80p under Bromsgrove District Councils Car Park Refunds Policy.

ENTITLED TO A REFUND

  • Members using the facility as part of their membership
  • Customers making a direct transaction with the Dolphin Centre reception for admission to an activity within the centre.
  • Refunds are restricted to ONE per person per booking of any group activity e.g. Badminton.
  • One representative only from each private hire booking. Including clubs, schools and room hire.

NOT ENTITLED TO A REFUND

  • Customers taking part in an activity that is not operated by the Dolphin Centre but that is run by a separate body or group.
  • Café use only
  • Tradesperson/persons
  • Drop off/collection of users (excluding participants of DC Junior Swimming Programme)

PROCEDURE

  • Please present the refund ticket at the Dolphin Centre reception prior to your activity
  • Tickets MUST be redeemed within1 5minutes of parking

Family Free Days
  • Free entry for Rivers members & their families on the days specified.
  • Family Free Days only available to Rivers members who pay for all inclusive use of the centre (monthly direct debit, six monthly and annual up front payments and joint memberships)
  • Casual members and concessionary card holders not eligible for Family Free Days
  • Family eligible for offer includes spouses, live in partners & their children taking part in an activity within the centre.
  • Unlimited number of activities can be participated in on the day.
  • The family member with a Rivers Membership must be taking part in an activity at the centre as part of the admitted group.
  • If children are over 8yrs they can go swimming whilst parents use other facilities e.g. the gym.
  • Family members must be be signed in by the Rivers Member.
