Even though the treatment of heart disease has improved enormously and patients are living longer, heart disease rates in the UK remain amongst the highest in the world. Experience of a heart attack or heart surgery can leave many survivors depressed, many fear a second attack, yet there is little help to reduce anxiety or the risk of further cardiac problems.

That’s where cardiac rehab comes in. Through education, nutrition counselling and supervised exercise, the cardiac rehab team help patients with heart disease lead more productive and enjoyable lives.
All patients are encouraged to attend Rehab classes on discharge.GP referrals can also be made.
Evesham Vale Cardiac Rehab run weekly classes at Evesham Leisure Centre for phases 3 & 4. These are one hour sessions which take place during the afternoon on Monday’s, Wednesday’s & Friday’s.

Inspired by the personal experience and vision of Cllr Gerry O’Donnell, a pilot prospect to provide a community based cardiac rehabilitation facility for Evesham and the Vale began in 2008.
Now based at Evesham Leisure Centre, Evesham Vale Cardiac Rehab (EVCR), was established as a registered charity to raise and provide funds to support the costs of accommodation, fitness instructors and some equipment, as well as promoting cardiac rehab.
EVCR is keen to ensure appropriate referral of all patients who may benefit from this facility. our vision is to work towards providing the local community with a centre of excellence for all exercise based rehabilitation.
