Droitwich Member Raising Money for Local Hospice

A member at Droitwich Spa Leisure Centre is undertaking a sponsored challenge on Sunday 5th February to raise money for St Richard’s Hospice. Angela Bill a completing a triathlon ‘with a difference’ which consists of:

  • Swimming 2Km (80 lengths) at Droitwich Leisure Centre
  • Cycling 20Km on a route around Droitwich
  • Walking 20Km on a route around Droitwich

“St Richard’s Hospice is our local hospice offering the best quality care and support to patients and their families at a time when it is most needed.  Originally started in Droitwich, it is now located in Worcester where it is continuing to expand confirming that there is a real need for such a facility.  Although it is supported by hundreds of volunteers who give their time freely, it is still a charity and as such requires constant funding from the local community whom it supports.

I have lived in Droitwich with my family for more than 30 years and I first came into contact with St Richard’s 13 years ago when I worked there and saw first hand the great work they do not only for their patients but also by offering palliative care training so that this facility can offer excellent service of the highest standard.  As you can see I am passionate about the work they do at St Richard’s Hospice and this is borne out by the fact that this will be my 9th challenge to raise funds.  To find out more about the work St Richard’s Hospice do go to www.strichards.org.uk
