About Wychavon Leisure

Wychavon Leisure Community Association Ltd. (WLCAL) is an Industrial and Provident Society with charitable objects. Established in May 1999, the company provides facilities for sport, recreation and leisure for the benefitof social welfare as outlined in our rules.

The company operates ten facilities across the Midlands, with activities made available to members of the community regardless of ability or economic circumstances.

The company has a Board of Trustees/Directors from a wide range of backgrounds including representatives from Wychavon District Council, Hereford and Worcester Chamber of Commerce, Evesham College, the local Sports Council and local centre users. The company and its management team are committed to working in partnership with a wide range of organisations to improve the quality of leisure provision.

Our Company Philosophy

Our overriding company philosophy is the social provision of sports and leisure facilities utilising the benefits from any available commercial activities to subsidise these services.

The company works to generate a financial surplus in order that we can invest in facilities, equipment and staff to ensure the sustainable provision of sports, leisure and recreational services.

The leisure facilities managed by WLCAL offer value for money sports and recreational opportunities for all. This is achieved with an innovative pricing structure. This is written into our charitable objects and is key to our funding arrangements with all our partners:

Our Corporate Aims

  • To create an environment in which sport, leisure and recreational activities are integrated into the lifestyles of our customers; where participation is as important as competing
  • To provide the highest quality facilities for all and additional opportunities for those most able to compete on a wider stage
  • To reinvestment in the local economy through the use of local suppliers and supporting the community through sponsorship

Our Commitment to The Future

WLCAL is committed to maintaining, developing and expanding the facilities and services it provides within our portfolio for the benefit of the community. This will ensure the long-term sustainability of the company, its employees and services.

We have in place a plan for the maintenance and development of the company’s facilities, which is reviewed on a regular basis.

We recognise that to develop our business and services we rely on our workforce; our most valuable asset. To this end, we will work to develop our people and involve them in the management and development of the business whilst offering equal opportunity for all.

To deliver our vision we will:

  • Manage the business successfully and generate sufficient funds for re-investment
  • Make successful bids for external funding grant aid
  • Continue to maintain a successful track record that will provide confidence to our customers, partners and workforce
  • Seek new business opportunities through partnership working
